Third Grade Makes Puppets for Pre-Kindergarten
December 3, 2025
Before Thanksgiving Break, Lotspeich third graders made hand-crafted sock animals and pillow pets for pre-kindergarten students.
According to third grade teacher Sarah Gaunt, students wanted to make companions for their younger peers to use during naptime.

The project not only sparked creativity and kindness but also fostered a sense of community and connection between the different grade levels.
The third graders eagerly dove into the crafting process, selecting colorful fabric and fluffy stuffing to create their handmade gifts. With care and precision, they glued and shaped each piece, adding buttons and fabric scraps for eyes and decorations.

Once the stuffed animals are completed, third graders plan to read stories to pre-kindergartners after presenting the stuffed animals.
