Pre-Kindergarten Opens an Arctic Museum

 The day before Spring Break, Heather Arredondo’s students turned their classroom into an arctic museum.

Inside the museum, students showed family and friends their migration of caribou knowledge, arctic animal artwork, findings from a blubber experiment, and a lifesize baby orca.

“The museum was the end result of our 10-week study,” Arredondo said “The students decided what we would do for our big event. They also chose what animals we learned about and then we got to work. We watched a video and read a book for each animal and then created an anchor chart of the facts they found most interesting.”
