Middle School Students Read to First Graders

On Nov. 20, seventh graders read their self-made solar system books to Lotspeich first graders. 

Prior to this event, the seventh graders collaborated in groups to research and design their books, focusing on a planet of their choice for their Unit 2 project. They could choose to center the book on the planet itself or use it as a backdrop for their story. 

Each group’s leaders presented their books not only to their classmates but also to the Lotspeich students. 

The captivated first graders eagerly asked questions about the celestial bodies, shared their favorite planets with the Middle Schoolers, and, for those who volunteered, practiced their pronunciation by reading aloud.
