Unit III Studies Force and Motion

In Unit III science, students have been studying force and motion. They learned about Newton’s Three Laws of Motion and conducted simple experiments to test each one. Students made hoppers out of cardboard and rubber bands. This simple but effective tool demonstrates the actions of force (push and pull). Students worked together to plan and create their hopper. Then, they prepared to run an experiment to measure the jump height of the hopper based on the materials used. They launched the hoppers and recorded results, citing the push and pull forces acting upon the hopper to make it jump. The culmination was a slo-mo video that students made and pushed out on Seesaw with a caption explaining the process and learning objectives.
