Sixth-graders Study Geographical Features of Africa
Sometimes, teachers reinforce a lesson by asking students to research and then teach their findings to their classmates. Sixth-graders in Andy McGarvey’s geography class recently taught a lesson on the geographical features of Africa to their classmates. Each of the five groups presented on a different region of the continent. The presenting group would teach a lesson and their peers took notes. Students then reviewed the material with a game that was created by the presenting group. McGarvey then took the review quizzes students made to create an assessment.
