Sixth-graders “Pass the Blood”
Sixth-graders in Karen Glum and Jennifer Licata’s science class put a spin on the viral “Pass the Ball” challenge. As part of their human body unit, students learned about the heart and how blood flows through the body. Each science class then created a “Pass the Blood” video to show the pathway of blood flow throughout the heart and body. Students created a video of themselves at their homes stating which part of the pathway they represented then “passing” deoxygenated (a blue circle) or oxygenated (a red circle) just out of the frame. The next student stated the consequent step in blood flow and so on until students completed the flow. The videos were edited together to complete the story of blood flow.
