Seventh-graders Study Weather

Seventh-graders in Kristin Suer’s class recently studied weather phenomenon. As a homework assignment, Suer asked her students to create two memes about extreme weather. “Students used the most popular meme faces Generation Z has to offer and combined it with the coolest photos of their topic as the background,” Suer said. “Then, they had to combine the characteristics of their chosen topic with their wit to create the phrases.” Suer said students enjoyed the assignment and the memes voted the best by the class earned extra credit. In a different assignment, which was the culminating project of the weather unit, students worked virtually with a partner for a month to create a presentation about a weather topic of their choice. Students were very creative, portraying their knowledge of weather with models, stop-motion videos, news reports, music videos, and more!
