Seventh-graders Present Design Thinking Projects
Seventh-graders in Karen Glum’s Design Thinking class presented their projects and prototypes on June 1. This semester, students searched for a real-world problem and worked to solve it by designing a prototype. They asked the community and the Cincinnati Zoo for help in finding the catalyst for their ideas. Students created a prototype and went through several iterations to find the best idea, keeping the client and empathy in mind every step of the way. The June 1 presentations, which were examined by a panel of evaluators, featured everything from an elephant enrichment activity, to a more comfortable high-heeled shoe, to a prosthetic arm to help someone play baseball. Evaluators listed to the student presentations and reviewed their work.
