Seventh-graders Participated in Interactive Investment Challenge

As the economy faces uncertain circumstances, seventh-grade history teacher Doug Huff is giving students a real-world lesson in finance and investing. Students participated in the eight-week Investment Education Challenge, a simulation that teaches students about investing. Students work independently during class time to complete the challenge. As they answered math questions, they earn simulated dollars to invest in a portfolio. Students are also studying the Great Depression and the Stock Market Crash of 1929. Students compared the economy of the 1930s to the Great Recession and to the economy today.
