Second-graders Draw Chickens
Second-graders in Jody Knoop’s art class recently drew chickens and roosters, which they will later paint. Students started drawing the birds step-by-step, with Knoop acting as their guide. Second-graders used basic shapes to draw the body of their roosters. Knoop told the class, “If you can draw shapes, if you can write the alphabet, you can draw anything!” She told students about the importance of tweaking and changing their work over time and how the ability to make changes to their art is the mark of being an artist.
