With the arrival of winter comes winter sports including a new sport introduced to Seven Hills this year: indoor track. Starting in 2020, indoor track was approved, and practices and meets began. This new sport has created lots of buzz throughout the school as to what will happen with it and who is organizing it. Seven Hills junior Abby Heck is the student organizer of this sport, and it could not have happened without her. She was assisted by Tana Luckie, coach of the indoor track team and coach of cross country and track. The season started on Jan. 7, just as students come back from their winter break. Practice are every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5 p.m. outside because there are no indoor spaces available for practice. Everyone who signed up for it and came to practice is required to attend at least one meet. “I have high hopes for the team. I think it’ll be a lot of fun,” said Heck.
