Doherty Green Team Honors Former Head Patti Guethlein
After a spirited brainstorming session, Doherty’s Green Team Club decided to continue to beautify the area around the ginkgo tree that was planted last year in honor of former Head of Doherty Patti Guethlein, who retired last year after 44 years at Seven Hills. “The students decided to plant flowers around it and to obtain a rock with an inscription in honor of Patti,” said Green Team adviser Donna Breitenstein. The rock and inscription were donated by the James and Sarah Jurgensen family. The Green Team Club helped James Jurgensen, along with Seven Hills maintenance team member John Drew, to install the rock in front of the tree. The inscription quotes A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh with, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Breitenstein said Guethlein plans to join the school community for a special gathering in late May.
