An overcast, drizzly day couldn’t stop the joyful energy of pre-kindergarteners on Doherty Campus during their traditional Mini Pig event. The 15th annual event had some of our youngest students running, and their parents and older friends cheering them on as they stretched, focused, and took two athletic laps around the front field. The pre-kindergarten students stretched before they took off running, motivated by the cheers of the crowd and stopped at the hydration stations dotting the course. Children gathered on a platform to receive medals at the end of the race. The Mini Pig, created by kindergarten teacher Cyndi Kenyon and coordinated by Doherty’s athletic department, is a collaborative event designed to promote physical fitness, health education, and overall fun.
