Middle, Upper School Excels at the Classics

A group of Seven Hills Latin students attended the Ohio Junior Classical League’s Fall Forum at Columbus Academy. Eighth-graders Maya Parikh and Erin Finn played on the second-place Novice Certamen team. Parikh earned first place and Finn second place in novice-level academic testing. Finn also placed first in two creative arts competitions — English oratory and Latin recitation. Ninth-grader Jenny Huearned first place in upper-level academic testing and first place in the graphics arts contest. Ninth-grader Sarah Croog played on the second-place intermediate Certamen team. Eleventh-graders Kevin Wang and Alex Grass placed second and fifth, respectively, in upper-level academic testing. Twelfth-grader Max Lane earned 4th place in English Oratory. Eleventh-grader, and former Latin student, Krish Gupta offered moral support throughout the day. On Saturday, Dec. 8, Seven Hills hosted its annual Certamen where 33 teams from Latin programs all over Cincinnati competed. Our Intermediate team of ninth-graders Naina Puroshathaman, Aditi Puroshathaman, Robby Ligeralde, and Sarah Croog took second place!
