Middle School Celebrates Insect Day and Pumpkin Day
As part of an annual tradition, students participated in Insect Day and Pumpkin Day on Oct. 31. In the morning, sixth-graders and their parents participated in Insect Day. They conducted a termite experiment that required participants to group up and draw a line on the middle of a piece of paper, and then determine if the termite followed the line. All the groups recorded the data, analyzed, and graphed it. Students also did a creative writing exercise about insects. After lunch, the entire Middle School came together for Pumpkin Day. During this afternoon of fun fall activities, students worked in groups to decorate pumpkins. Their work was displayed in the Middle School Commons. Once the pumpkins were completed, students spread out around campus to participate in athletic contests like tug of war.
