Middle School Celebrates Bill Waskowitz!

On Saturday, Dec. 8, Head of Middle School Bill Waskowtiz turned 60 years old. To commemorate the special occasion, the Middle School came together for a big surprise — a celebration in Stoehr Gym! The Friday before the big day, students and teachers dressed in black, signed cards for Waskowitz, and decorated his office with balloons. The school kept the whole celebration under wraps. Head of School Chris Garten helped get Waskowitz to the gym when the time came, telling the Middle School head a story about an important meeting. When Waskowitz entered the gym, Middle School students and faculty sang “Happy Birthday!” Eighth-grader Anna Papakirk read a list of facts about Waskowitz’s birth year and cookies in the shape of Waskowitz’s signature bow tie were handed out.
