Latin Club Goes Green Screen

They morphed from gods and goddesses into gladiators, and then again, into Roman townspeople. Latin Club students recently worked with teachers Marcie Handler and Katie Swinford to bring to life what they have learned about Latin and Roman culture. During a spirited lunchtime gathering, the students donned a number of authentic-looking props borrowed from Middle School theater teacher Jacob Hauser, and took turns posing in front of the screen, operated by Handler. “This was our first Middle School Latin Club meeting of the year,” said Handler. “Students learned how to wrap a toga, and dressed up in togas or other ancient-themed costumes to take pics in front of a green screen. We worked together to choose ancient Roman backgrounds for their pics, so they could go back in time to the Colosseum, a Roman theater, or even a Roman road!”
