Latin Club Celebrates Saturnalia

Before the winter break, the Latin Club celebrated the ancient Roman holiday of Saturnalia. Students ate pizza and donned red conical hats, called pilei, for the celebration, which honors the Roman god Saturn. On Saturnalia, ancient homes celebrated the holiday with role reversals, and slaves would be served by their masters. Ancient Romans would also give gifts and gamble.
