Fourth-graders Learn About Space from Seventh-graders

In a cross-divisional activity, seventh-graders in Kristin Suer’s earth science class read aloud books they wrote to Natalie Wildfong’s fourth-graders. Suer’s studentsrecently used their knowledge of space to write children’s books. The lesson was part of their space unit. “Students were asked to create a fictional, with some facts embedded, children’s book about a planet in our solar system,” Suer said. “They worked very hard on this. The student’s books have some pretty comical storylines, elaborate illustrations, and even lessons about bullying.”
