Fifth-graders Become STEM Superheroes

The city of STEMville was recently in peril, and Natalie Wildfong’s fifth-grade science class came to the rescue! The lesson, called Superheroes of STEMville was taught by a representative from the Cincinnati Museum Center as part of the organization’s Programs-On-Wheels. Fifth-graders were asked to solve problems in the fictional city of STEMville by constructing three solutions, including a catapult, a boat, and a spaghetti structure. Students were given limited supplies to solve the problems.
