Doherty Participates in Hour of Code
Hour of Code was in held in early December, kicking off a worldwide effort to teach students about coding. On the Doherty Campus, students of all ages participated in the event, held during Computer Science Education Week. Kindergarteners and first-gradersdid unplugged coding, working offline and coding on paper. In Unit II, students used a computer program to make an ozobot, a tiny robot, move independently. Students coded the ozobots for movement, distance, speed, and light effects. Unit III students continued to work on their Grand Encounters, programming robots to move and speak about historical events.
