Designing Coloring Books

This spring, Lotspeich art teacher Jody Knoop’s fourth-graders learned how to design patterns with the iPad application, Kaleidopaint. Using their fingers, the students drew images that simultaneously formed a pattern of that image. Knoop then printed out each students’s piece. The images are really fun and exciting to see, said Knoop, they could be used for wrapping paper, fabric design, or, as we are putting together, a coloring book. Each student will receive a copy, which is the culmination of their unit on symmetry.
