Creepy Critters Day

On Oct. 31, sixth graders discovered fascinating facts about their newfound friend, the termite, during Creepy Critters Day. Students and their parents enjoyed a morning packed with engaging writing activities, experiments, and much more!
One highlight of the event was drawing an ink line on paper and witnessing how the termite would instinctively follow it. Additionally, students had the opportunity to sample edible, dried crickets.
The hands-on activities fostered a deeper understanding of entomology and sparked an appreciation for the often-overlooked insects that share our planet.
By the end of the day, students left with not only a wealth of knowledge but also a newfound respect for their “creepy” friends.
Creepy Critters Day has become an annual tradition, blending education with adventure, and leaving sixth graders eager to explore more about the natural world.
