Author Drew Daywalt Reads to Doherty Students

Drew Daywalt, author of the wildly popular children’s books“The Day the Crayons Quit,” stopped by the Doherty Campus to talk to students in pre-kindergartenthrough Unit I. Daywalt gave a funny and engaging presentation. He discussed his time as a filmmaker and writer for Disney television shows. He read his book, “The Epic Adventures of Huggie and Stick.” Students had lots of questions, including how books are created, and Daywalt signed their books. The presentation was made possible by Doherty librarian Linda Wolfe and Blue Manatee Children’s Bookstore.
