A Very Special Story Time

Pre-kindergarten teacher Julie Brackett brought story time to life when she recently read “Quack and Count” by Keith Baker to her students via a remote learning visit. “I related baby ducks to baby farm animals and connected it to my relatives who run farms that are welcoming new spring animals right now,” said Brackett, who, during her story time, showed pictures of her aunt’s new calves. “I talked to my aunt who loves this time of year at her farm.” Brackett said she sent me pictures of some of the calves to share with my students. She also asked me to invite my students to name the calves.” Brackett said she will continue to share photos from her Aunt Kathryn’s farm in Frankfort, Kentucky.
