2-year-old Pre-kindergarteners Hold a Teddy Bear Picnic
Christina Del Vecchio’s pre-kindergarten for 2-year-olds class recently had a teddy bear picnic! After completing their study of bears and hibernation, students enjoyed a picnic with a bear’s favorite snacks. “Students learned that during the cold winter months, bears fill their bellies and then find a warm place to hibernate,” Del Vecchio said. “Hibernate means to sleep or be very inactive for a long time.” She added that bears do not eat or drink while they are hibernating, which is why they like to eat a lot before the winter begins. “To prepare our ‘bears’ for hibernation, the students filled their bellies at a teddy bear picnic, filled with bear snacks like fish, berries, and jam!” Del Vecchio said.
