The play with passion school
Lower School Athletics
The athletic department believes firmly in the value of the relationships that develop on the athletic field and the bond that results between coaches and their teams. The understanding, respect, and commitment to skill development generated by this dynamic create a common philosophy shared by the parents and the school.
In Lower School, the Seven Hills athletic program emphasizes active participation by athletes at all skill levels. Under the guidance of skilled and supportive coaches, our youngest athletes develop the mental and physical skills that will help them succeed on and off the field for the rest of their lives.
Athletics and early skill exploration are an important component in the development of each student at Seven Hills, as they learn not only the basic rules and strategies of different sports, but learn how to play together, how to lead, and how to conduct themselves on the playing field.
In their elementary years, boys and girls play on competitive teams through SAY (Soccer Association for Youth) and CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) leagues, bringing together students from both Lower Schools to play and develop relationships. Sports include soccer and volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, and softball, baseball, and track in the spring. Teams are coached by experienced parent volunteers trained and supported by our expert coaches.
The athletic success we enjoy at the Middle and Upper School levels begins early on, as our Lower School students develop the skills and strategies that inspire them to become accomplished athletes through Upper School and beyond.
