Welcome from our Head of Upper School
Welcome to The Seven Hills Upper School. Our students are marked by their deep engagement in a range of academic and extracurricular pursuits. This engagement is evident in the classroom, where our talented and dedicated faculty members teach lessons that are active, varied, and student-centered. Whether conducting an experiment in a science lab or role-playing an exchange in a world language class, Seven Hills students are challenged to tackle complex problems and to engage in higher-order thinking. A Seven Hills student does not passively receive information; rather, he or she actively discovers new concepts, connections, and insights. This training in critical thinking prepares our students to be life-long learners.
At Seven Hills, learning doesn’t end with the end of the school day. The quality and range of the school’s athletic and extracurricular programs ensure that every student can engage in meaningful activities beyond the classroom. By participating in sports, music and arts, the personal challenge project, and a wide variety of clubs and organizations, our students discover and develop their many talents. Service, travel, and our experiential learning program provide further opportunities for students to engage in the local and global communities of which our school is a part.
All of these endeavors take place in an environment that is unfailingly supportive. The Upper School is a place of ready smiles, encouraging words, and mutual respect between students and their teachers. It is a place in which new students quickly find themselves at home, and from which they will ultimately emerge as confident and accomplished young men and women.
